Here is an interesting excerpt from the book, "King of Russia". It is about Dave King, the first westerner to coach in the Russian Super League. In this piece, King talks about Russian youth hockey system.
As you will read, the Russians take a different approach to the game. While Russia may develop very talented players, the system is top heavy and is geared towards developing professionals.
What cannot be dismissed, however, is the work ethic that Russia has in developing it's players... second to none!
